Gap5 Error: invalid command name "...

  • Nobody/Anonymous

    We recently built the 2.0.0b4 source code, but have encountered an error after compilation.  When using gap5, clicking File->New and entering some text, results in a new dialog box indicating: "Error: invalid command name "open_db"

    The "Details > >" text says:

    invalid command name "open_db"
    invalid command name "open_db"
        while executing
    "open_db -name $db_name -version $version -access $access  -create $create"
        (procedure "New_OK_Pressed" line 48)
        invoked from within
    "New_OK_Pressed .new [expandpath ]"
        invoked from within
    ".new.ok_cancel.ok invoke"
        ("uplevel" body line 1)
        invoked from within
    "uplevel #0

    • "
          (procedure "tk::ButtonUp" line 22)
          invoked from within
      "tk::ButtonUp .new.ok_cancel.ok"

    The bin directory containing the gap5 executable is in my path.  Is there an operator error here?

    Sorry for the slow reply. This option was accidentally left there when I copied bits from Gap4. The File->New dialogue hasn't been written yet for Gap5 so the behaviour is broken.

    Instead use the tg_index command line tool to generate gap5 databases. Thanks.
