Version 1.4-102 of the PostgreSQL library for VisualWorks has been released to the Cincom contrib library and here on SourceForge.
Version 1.3 011 of the library introduces the ability to have different encoding for different data types on a per-session basis. So, with this version, you can allow the StORE layer to work with the default translation using Base54 encoding, while at the same time having another connection to a PostgreSQL databasen which uses a diffenent bytea encoding - and the encoding methods do not intefere with each other.
The first public version of the PostgreSQL driver port to GemStone is now available. Take care, this is the first release. Feedback is more than welcome.
David Gorisek's port of version 1.0 011 of the PostgreSQL drivers to VisualAge for Smalltalk is now available here. You can find more information on the project home page. Download from the "files" section.
The PostgreSQL library has been working well for many users for many months. It seems reasonable to say that we've moved beyond beta now.
1.0 011 for VisualWorks is now available. All the VisualWorks components are now in a single file. This release has been tested at 5i.2 and 5i.3b2.
Version 1.0 010 improves the stability of the StORE mapping, making it faster and more space efficient. While still an early version (and still not suitable as your sole source code repository) this StORE mapping provides the functionality of the StORE SCM on a leading OpenSource DBMS.
An early version of support for StORE with PostgreSQL is available. StORE, the Cincom Visualworks source code management system, can be used with the open source database PostgreSQL. Note that this early version is not suitable as the sole repository for your valuable source code.
This release includes support for function calls and BLOBs. It is a major step on the way to supporting StORE, the VisualWorks code management system. Expect a first release of the StORE mapping soon.
Includes EXDI transaction management + data type mapping for data read from PostgreSQL.
The current version of the system (1.0 006) is available by sending me an email. The next version (1.0 007) will be available directly from here.
