#1 Authentication response not recognised

Attempt to login to a version 7.3 database from a version
7nc image under Win2000 is failing because the
authentication response code of 5 is not catered for.
Stack backtrace attached. There is no problem when
using pgAdminII from the same host to the same
database for the same user. The database is configured
to use md5 password encryption.
