Some development news:
I released two days ago active-xmlrpc 0.70. "Active"
(http://www.active.org.au)is a PHP/Postgres web publishing system, used
by most sites named "Independent Media Centers"(http://indymedia.org).
active-xmlrpc is a re-write of the back-end code as a set of SandStorm
components, leaving the PHP frontend doing the minimal stuff.
0.70 is different from previous versions that it contains two
stand-alone(not CGI) components, which manage the whole publishing
process, using the DB in the best efficent way possible.
So together with the front-end, it can be described as the first
practical SandStorm application:)
I'm working now on an SQL backed registry. It is not meant to replace
the standard registry, but to provide an alternative implementation,
which is going to be slower, but more reliable.
Database requests will be processed by a dedicted thread, communicated
by a Queue. requests can be either Read or Write, where write requests
are given higher priority(This can increase latency, but at least we are
sure the data is concurrent).
