[SSI-users] Getting Student help?

Guys,

I'm just a lurker here, and also on kernelnewbies.  Every month or two
on kernel newbies it seems like someone is asking what a good project
would be to learn the kernel, or to have be part of their master's
thesis, etc.

OpenSSI seems like it would be good possibility.

If you listed yourselves at http://kernelnewbies.org/KernelProjects
you might get some takers.  (assuming there are parts of the openssi
effort appropriate to the above individuals.)

I support Greg's opinion. Even porting CFS (Cluster File System) to
latest  2.6 (i believe that still need some work to do) is a very
challenging work.

Or maybe porting tcpcp into openSSI framework. Or even abandoned
things like porting openSSI into UML arch.

By latest 2.6 do you mean latest 2.6 kernel (2.6.27)?  It's not just CFS 
that would need porting but all the kernel stuff.

A big job, but would be nice to have.

Very interesting.  Pity the mailing list seems to consist of nothing but 
spam and the documentation links are dead.

Once I tried to do that with openMosix, but I am failed and stucked
since I have to find out to "adapt"  x86 arch specific code into UML,
for example when handling signal. Probably it's just me that know so
little about both x86 and UML.

However, i am still willing to continue doing it in my free time, but
not now. Too many jobs queued ....

NB: IIRC, Krishnakumar was the one who did openSSI porting into UML?
