I know someone on this list has mentioned this recently, but I'll just
second it as I haven't heard a resolution for it.
On a vanilla Redhat Enterprise 3 AS freshly installed with openssi,
shutting down the cluster (only the init node has been configured so
far) results in the node hanging at the line "flushing ide devices:
This has also happened on standard Redhat 9 installation too. Also
happened in VMWare image of Redhat (9 or enterprise).
I will be happy to supply any additional information necessary to help
pinpoint this problem.
FYI: The kernel has not been tweaked/recompiled. Everything is stock
standard fresh install.
If it helps, whilst installing openssi, the installation revealed that
the openssi binary sources were older than what was currently on the
fresh install. ie. To name just one, the redhat-config-network util
from the RHEL3 is newer than the one supplied with openssi.
Cheers for any insight.
