Hi I did many changes to ssi files to get the drbd working , but did not work out. But something that I did do screwed the system up . Any write to the root file system is extremely slow. I ran iozone -s 4096 on both the root file system and /usr partition . On the root I get this KB reclen write rewrite read reread read write read rewrite read fwrite frewrite fread freread 4096 4 156 552 196970 489068 472546 805 469188 574 462196 158 568 193216 468806 on /usr I get this KB reclen write rewrite read reread read write read rewrite read fwrite frewrite fread freread 4096 4 78453 116135 198400 509008 470419 116241 465988 301288 491180 76352 112139 194964 484217 The main difference is ofcourse the write speed which is many orders less than the write speed seen on the /usr partition. For readers where the lines are warped up. The write speed on the root file system is 156KB/sec whereas on the /usr file system it is 78453KB/sec Both the file systems are ext3 with the default options. I made sure that drbd is not running or started. ANy help on this would be greatly appreciated. Arcot |

Do you still have this problem? Are you sure that the root isn't mounted chard? I don't know why this would have so much different, but I'm curious. Could the root have much less space available, so somehow ext3 doesn't perform as well in that case?
