I've been very delinquent about responding to you. My apologies.
In general terms, what you're doing is somewhat similar to something
Richard Black has been discussing on ssic-linux-devel. The difference is
that you want to add some extra lines to the subnet declaration, whereas
he wants to add some extra lines to individual host declarations.
Perhaps the two of you can coordinate and come up with a solution that
addresses both problems in a similar fashion?
A suggestion that I'll offer is that it might make more sense for
dhcpd.moreproto (I'm not sure that name's as descriptive as it could be)
to contain the actual lines that should be inserted into dhcpd.conf,
rather than something that needs to be parsed and translated. That way,
the mkdhcpd.conf script does not need to understand anything
dhcpd.moreproto contains. It can simply read the contents and write them
to dhcpd.conf when it starts the subnet declaration. This will make it
easy for others to do different things (other than range, routers, etc.)
with this file without having to edit the mkdhpcd.conf script.
What do you think?
