As part of my move toward focusing on the Red Hat branch, the 0.9.8
release will probably be the last one for which I roll vanilla source
tarballs. Going forward, I plan to just build RPMs and SRPMs for Red
Hat. When I last broached this subject, there seemed to be a fair amount
of interest in continuing support for vanilla GNU/Linux. Would someone
be interested in rolling the vanilla source tarballs in the future?
It is preferable that someone new do it. It is a relatively simple way
to get involved with the project, and it allows current developers to
focus on fixing bugs and adding features. If you are interested, I can
tell you how to do it. I've written scripts to help automate the procedure.
