hello all, I somewhat managed to get OpenAFS-1.4.0-rc6 working on OpenSSI-1.2.2 (the client from OpenAFS that is). Now when the afs kernel module is loaded and the afs deamons are started the afs cell (afs volumes) are mounted on /afs. I expected that every node can see the mounted afs cell mounted on /afs... but only the node where afs was started can "see" it there. (all other nodes don't see anything, except an empty /afs directory) In other words, I ssh to the cluster (end up on node 2) start afs and everything seems like it should be but when I again ssh to the cluster, end up on (let's say) node 3 and can't see the afs cell/volumes. (but when I do a "onnode 2 ls /afs" then i see it/them again. (I briefly thought about starting afs on every node.. but that gets hairy especially when apps get migrated to other nodes because of loadlevelling etc.) Another thing, when afs is started using cache files located on disk the the kernel panics with a cfs panic, when I start afs using caches in memory it (somewhat) seems to work. (I e-mailed a bit about that one with Laura Ramirez who undoubtedly knows more about the details) Ron |
