David would be the best person to answer this, but let me try. The way, CFS works, is, it `stacks' itself on top of ext2/ext3. ext2/ext3 are physical filesystem, which talk to the underlying disk. CFS would not talk to the disk. It would have hooks into ext2/ext3, and talk to those. CFS would provide NFS-like layer on top of ext2/ext3. When you mount ext2/ext3 filesystem, CFS would automatically get stacked on top of ext2/ext3 and it would be visible across the cluster. | /dev/hda3 remains a mistery as to how I should make use of it...
