Yeah a SSI is pretty useless without HPC card support. Lack of migration of shared memory chunks of a few kilobytes each is in fact a smaller problem than this, though pretty crucial as well. OpenMosix was doing that, yet stopped in 2008. If i download what's left of OpenMosix i get a zip file of just a couple of hundreds of kilobyte. Not just this, about all sorts of objective tests there was in HPC, they no longer get published on the net it seems. Nowadays you'll have to do with the manufacturer info - which is very objective info of course. I've got here some QDR infiniband cards and a SSI would be pretty useful for it. Yet ethernet is a tad slow sort of protocol of course. The cards do that at 10 gigabit. They're however 40 gigabit (bi- directional) at non-ethernet standards. You don't want to throw that away of course. Note it's still useless to me without capability of migrating shared memory - and not the entire gigabytes, but of course migrating just a few kilobytes at a time... > >> is it require two NIC card enable machine for first node? > > just one NIC is fine IMHO. > > you need two NICs if the first node will act as kinda gateway to the > another LAN...so the cluster is "isolated". > >> Which linux disribution is best for this software. > > Debian IMHO.. > > -- > regards, > > Mulyadi Santosa > Freelance Linux trainer and consultant > > blog: the-hydra.blogspot.com > training: mulyaditraining.blogspot.com > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > -------- > Live Security Virtual Conference > Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and > threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond. > Discussions > will include endpoint security, mobile security and the latest in > malware > threats. http://www.accelacomm.com/jaw/sfrnl04242012/114/50122263/ > _______________________________________________ > Ssic-linux-users mailing list > Ssi...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ssic-linux-users |
