I've installed OpenSSI 1.9.1 on a fresh FC3 installation. I solved my problems with booting the init node by rerunning mkinitrd. Now node #1 boots just fine. Node #2 is PXE booting off of Node #1's second ethernet device. It loads the kernel and initrd and then immediately does a software reset. Looking at a dump of the network traffic, the machine happily gets its DHCP information, and TFTPs the kernel. After that, there is no more network activity, so I'm assuming something is funky with the kernel or initrd. I added Node #2 after I got Node #1 booting OpenSSI properly, so I'm assuming they're using the same kernel. The kernel and initrd files in /tftpboot are the right ones, but there is also a combined file that it looks like it's actually downloading (I may be wrong on that). I don't know how to generate or deconstruct the combined file manually, so I can't confirm that it contains the right data. It does have the same timestamp as the kernel and initrd that were put in /tftpboot, though. Node #1 and Node #2 use the same drivers for their ethernet devices, so /etc/modprobe.conf should be correct as well. Is this a known problem, or do you need some more debugging information? Is there a stable development version (like a 1.9.2 candidate) in CVS that I can checkout and try? Jack |
