I guess I'll jump on the band wagon too. Authentication time takes me ~4 minutes to connect to my Linux server to do one simple command! I'm running: This is Perl, v5.8.7 built for AIX I do have one question though, Starting SFTP Session at Mon Oct 3 16:40:58 EDT 2005 for tcpsyslog.......................... tcp_rs60001: Reading configuration data //.ssh/config tcp_rs60001: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config tcp_rs60001: Allocated local port 1023. tcp_rs60001: Connecting to tcpsyslog, port 22. tcp_rs60001: Remote protocol version 1.99, remote software version OpenSSH_3.4p1 tcp_rs60001: Net::SSH::Perl Version 1.28, protocol version 2.0. tcp_rs60001: No compat match: OpenSSH_3.4p1. tcp_rs60001: Connection established. tcp_rs60001: Sent key-exchange init (KEXINIT), wait response. tcp_rs60001: Algorithms, c->s: 3des-cbc hmac-sha1 none tcp_rs60001: Algorithms, s->c: 3des-cbc hmac-sha1 none What is stored in the //.ssh/config file? How do you point it to another location? I don't seem to have this or the /etc/ssh_config file on my AIX server. Where do these files go? On the source server or the target? And what the heck goes in them??? Thanks, David M.
