[Ssa-devlist] CPU usage spikes, II

Howdy,
I have requested help for this on OCLC's SS listserv, and am repeating my
inquiry here. Our SiteSearch instance will very ocassionally spike CPU usage
from 2-4% to near 100%. It has been (very helpfully) suggested that
installing a script on top of SS which monitors CPU usage and restarts the
application, when this happens, is one way of fixing the problem. Has anyone
experience with other solutions (our application's hosts would prefer
another solution).
