We have released srvx version 1.1.2. This addresses a number of bugs that could cause srvx-1.1.1 to crash. All users of srvx-1.1.0 and srvx-1.1.1 should upgrade to version 1.1.2 as soon as possible. This is last planned release on the 1.1 branch; unless new bugs are reported and fixed, the next release will be 1.2.0. The main focus of the 1.2 release is support for additional IRC server software. If you know of any bugs in the 1.1 code, please let us know. (CVS tag for the release is rel-1_1_2; we will re-fork the rel-1_1-branch in a week, and start working on 1.2 at that point.) -- Entrope |

After not so much development but some furious bug fixing, the srvx development team has released srvx version 1.1.1. This version includes minor feature enhancements and a number of important bugfixes relative to version 1.1.0. All users of srvx 1.1.0 should upgrade to srvx 1.1.1 as soon as possible; several of the commands available to network staff have the potential to crash srvx. Bug fixes: Correct data corruption (and possible crashes) in NickServ's account merging command. Do not crash if someone sends "PRIVMSG ChanServ noregister". Do not crash if unsuspending a channel requires ChanServ to create it. Do not crash when renaming a handle without any open HelpServ requests. Allow users with security override to properly do so (e.g. using public commands in a channel with !set PubCmd 6). G-line alerts did not use the proper default duration. G-line searching by mask was very broken; fixed now. !set autoop 0 would not op people not on the user list. !togop now works for peons in channels. Do not allow merging a channel with itself. Do not show "Toys" setting if lame tricks are disabled. Free memory correctly when removing an alias. Various wording and formatting fixes. New features: New NickServ account setting "tablewidth", which sets the maximum width for rendering tables. OpServ checks for existing channels and closes them down when you add a new bad word. If HelpServ is disabled, say so when someone uses ?helpserv. Accept "on" and "off" arguments to !togop. ?addtrust accepts duration 0 (meaning forever), just like ?gag. -- Entrope |

After much development, the srvx development team is proud to announce the release of srvx version 1.1. This version includes many improvements relative to the 1.0 series of releases -- too many to conveniently list here. A fairly complete list of changes can be found at <http://www.srvx.net/changes.php>. Some of the more prominent changes are: - Email support for some account management; users who are on a new hostmask, or who forget their password, can change it using email rather than needing network staff to help. - A new HelpServ bot type, which is able to handle queues of questions and assign them to staff. - Many features that make life easier for administrators and network staff, including a "do not register" list for channels. - Simplified proxy checking code, so that it runs on more systems and with lower overhead. A compressed source tarball and (for Windows) a zip file containing executables and help files have been uploaded to SourceForge and should be available for download shortly. -- Entrope |

srvx 1.0.2 has been released; this latest version in the 1.0.x series features minor changes, including experimental support for Undernet's version of the P10 protocol, minor formatting changes, and improved channel ban tracking. The oft-requested ability to require users authenticate to NickServ with PRIVMSG Nic...@se... has also been added. Zoot srvx Development Team |

Thanks to Entrope, the latest stable version of srvx, srvx-1.0.1, has been rolled up and released. If you'd like, call it a brown paper bag release; we've managed to fix several serious bugs in ChanServ that could cause srvx to crash. Also new in this release is much more robust uplink management and ban handling. We recommend all users upgrade to srvx-1.0.1 as soon as possible if they have not already done so. # Zoot |
