It would be nice if ChanServ could keep up with how many times a user has used !invite, or completely disable the !invite command altogether. As it currently stands, any user can register a channel and spam any other user with constant !invite requests. It is unfair that the user should have to ignore services for this, since if the "!invite" command weren't around, the user could simply ignore the abusive spammer.

    Rather than disabling, which can be done with UNBIND, it would be nice if services could only send one invitation per configurable time limit. For example, you could only use !invite every 5 minutes, otherwise, ChanServ would error out.

    hi

    i've written a small patch to block !invite abuse.

    http://pk910.de/patch/invite_abuse.patch

    to set the timeout (default is 600 seconds = 10min) add
    "invite_timeout" "600";
    to your config file (chanserv section)

    I don't know why people want to be in a channel with a guy on the userlist who spams the channel? Just leave the channel...
    And if it is your channel, then remove him from the userlist and ban him? I don't see any problem here.
