NickServ's e-mail verification subs reject the underscore character ( _
) in e-mail addresses. While _s aren't valid in the hostname/DNS
system itself, they are valid as local users on most (if not all) mail
systems in use around the world...

When a user provides an e-mail address of user_1@domain.com,
NickServ returns an error about using a well-formed e-mail address.

It should, however, return that error should somebody try to use
user@blah_blah.com.

It does not do any syntax checking out of the box beyond
checking for '@' in the address. On GamesNET it does not
reject such email addresses. When it *does* reject an email
address, the message includes the explanation provided when
a services admin added the matching prohibition.
