Please edit this message and provide as much information as you can to assist us in figuring out where the bug is and how we can fix it. I subscribe to the squirrelmail-list mailing list. [ ] True - No need to CC me when replying [x] False - Please CC me when replying This bug occurs when I ... ... view a particular message ... use a specific plugin/function [X] ... try to do/view/use .... [X] The description of the bug: I set up my squirrelMail such that when you access the login page you are prompted with a popup window asking for login and password (using .htaccess file in the squirrelmail root dir in apache). I also installed Login_auth plugin, which basically takes that information inputted in that popup and logs you into your email instead of prompting you again on the webpage for login and password. All this time I was using netscape to access my email, and when done I would simply click logout to signoff which took me to the page that said "click here to login again". In netscape you get the popup login again...but if you were to use IE 6.0 (go figure)...you don't get that popup login promp, instead you are logged back in without ever entering any kind of info. This could be dangerous because if a user does not close the browser after login out, anyone else could access their email without login. I can reproduce the bug by: Use IE 6 to login, then log out and try to login again without restarting the IE browser. (Optional) I got bored and found the bug occurs in: Only in IE. Not in netscape 6, 4.7 or mozilla 0.9 (Optional) I got really bored and here's a fix: =) sorry..i wish I had a fix. the only fix that i can think of is removing the .htaccess file and let the user login normally. ---------------------------------------------- My browser information: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010726 Netscape6/6.1 get_browser() information (List) * Nothing listed My web server information: PHP Version 4.0.4pl1 PHP Extensions (List) * 0 = imap * 1 = ldap * 2 = mysql * 3 = pgsql * 4 = zlib * 5 = yp * 6 = xml * 7 = wddx * 8 = sysvshm * 9 = sysvsem * 10 = standard * 11 = sockets * 12 = session * 13 = posix * 14 = pcre * 15 = gettext * 16 = gd * 17 = ftp * 18 = dba * 19 = apache SquirrelMail-specific information: Version: 1.0.6 Plugins (List) * 0 = sqclock * 1 = abook_import_export * 2 = attachment_common * 3 = autocomplete * 4 = email_priority * 5 = mail_fwd * 6 = quicksave * 7 = username * 8 = bug_report * 9 = delete_move_next * 10 = translate * 11 = squirrel_logger * 12 = printer_friendly * 13 = new_window * 14 = login_auth * 15 = folder_synch * 16 = focus_change * 17 = newmail My IMAP server information: Server type: uw Server info: * OK [HIDDEN] IMAP4 IMAP4REV1 STARTTLS LOGIN-REFERRALS AUTH=LOGIN] localhost.avarachen.net IMAP4rev1 2000.283rh at Thu, 25 Oct 2001 15:46:34 -0500 (CDT) Cabailities: IMAP4 IMAP4REV1 STARTTLS NAMESPACE IDLE MAILBOX-REFERRALS SCAN SORT THREAD=REFERENCES THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT MULTIAPPEND LOGIN-REFERRALS AUTH=LOGIN -- Cell: 773-386-0316 http://www.avarachen.net |

I subscribe to the squirrelmail-list mailing list. [ ] True - No need to CC me when replying [* ] False - Please CC me when replying This bug occurs when I ... ... view a particular message through the HTTPS protocol The description of the bug: After opening a multipart MIME message which includes the e-mail in HTML format and plain-text format, the "download" links below the message are "insecured". Squirrelmail is accessed through HTTPS, but the download links are constructed without specific protocol, which results in a link to: www.domain.tld/<path>/src/download.php?.... The browser (IE5) constructs a link to http://www.domain.tld/<path>/src/download.php?.... Any other links to the attachments are insecured this way. After opening and confirming a browser warning leaving the secured page, the webmail interface even completely shows up over an insecured link to the webserver, bypassing the security of the encrypted connection. I can reproduce the bug by: Logon to SquirrelMail through HTTPS, receive a multi-part/mixed MIME message and view the constructed URL's in the "read_body" view in the browser. The HTML source shows NO specified protocol. (Optional) I got bored and found the bug occurs in: mime.php, which and the END of a text/html MIME part inserts a <BASE> tag at the end of the HTML output. mime.php; line 1012 - 1017 ========================== return( "\n\n<!-- HTML Output ahead -->\n" . $ret . "\n<!-- END of HTML Output --><base href=\"". $HTTP_SERVER_VARS["SERVER_NAME"] . substr( $PHP_SELF, 0, strlen( $PHP_SELF ) - 13 ) . "\n<!-- END of HTML Output -->\n\n" ); } ### EOF Solution which works for me: REMOVE the base tag. Now anybody who uses a <BASE> tag in his e-mail can screw up my links, but what are the chances... ---------------------------------------------- My browser information: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows 98) get_browser() information (List) * Nothing listed My web server information: PHP Version 4.0.4pl1 PHP Extensions (List) * 0 = zlib * 1 = yp * 2 = xml * 3 = wddx * 4 = sysvshm * 5 = sysvsem * 6 = swf * 7 = standard * 8 = sockets * 9 = shmop * 10 = session * 11 = sablot * 12 = readline * 13 = posix * 14 = pgsql * 15 = pdf * 16 = pcre * 17 = openssl * 18 = mysql * 19 = mcrypt * 20 = mcal * 21 = ldap * 22 = imap * 23 = gettext * 24 = gd * 25 = ftp * 26 = filepro * 27 = exif * 28 = dbase * 29 = dba * 30 = curl * 31 = ctype * 32 = Calendar * 33 = bz2 * 34 = bcmath * 35 = Session MM * 36 = apache SquirrelMail-specific information: Version: 1.2.2 Plugins (List) * 0 = filters * 1 = mail_fetch * 2 = newmail * 3 = squirrelspell * 4 = translate * 5 = bug_report * 6 = sent_subfolders My IMAP server information: Server type: other Server info: * OK [HIDDEN] IMAP4 IMAP4REV1 STARTTLS LOGIN-REFERRALS AUTH=LOGIN] localhost IMAP4rev1 2000.287 at Fri, 4 Jan 2002 00:30:35 +0100 (CET) Cabailities: IMAP4 IMAP4REV1 STARTTLS NAMESPACE IDLE MAILBOX-REFERRALS SCAN SORT THREAD=REFERENCES THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT MULTIAPPEND LOGIN- REFERRALS AUTH=LOGIN |
