Does anybody know a plugin for writing html-mails or is there any plan to develop it? |

There was talk of this a while back - there are serveral good, open source, HTML Java editors that could be utilised. I forget who else said they might look into that. While I think it's bad to send mail exclusivly in HTML, if SM recieves HTML from the user, turns it to text and uses that as the mail body, but includes the original in an attachment then it should work for people with both HTML and text only clients. And I assume HTML send would be made a user preference. Of course - this has it's own problems and niggles, what do people think? At this moment SM can display html messages correct. The problem is when you want to reply html e-mail. What SM needs to do is throw away the html entity or if images are involved (multipart/related) then throw away the whole multipart/related entity and it's childs (images and html message) and only reply to the text/plain part of the message. At this moment SM doesn't do that. If we have a html plugin then things will get much nicer and you can maintain the html part and regenerate the alternative text/plain entity. So my thoughts are hurry up with the development of the html compose plugin and I do the SM part. The SM part is making the correct boundaries and setting the correct Content-types (multipart/related ; multipart/alternative ; multipart/mixed). A usefull extra option to compose-html is an exclude list with the mailinglists addresses. If compose-html is default then change to text/plain if we are sending to an address of the exlude-list. Support of the outlook stationaries would be nice to. So far my thoughts, Marc Groot Koerkamp. Hi everyone, I've recently installed HTML_Mail plugin. It seems to be working, with one exception. My entire SM site is server over SSL. (https://...) When I click compose, my browser offers me a warning that I will be transferring nonsecure content. The plugin works whether I choose yes or no. If I choose no, then a "not found" screen flashes super fast in the popup and the compose window loads. The error message generated in my apache log is this: --- Thu Jun 03 17:05:44 2004] [error] [client 10.10.10.10] File does not exist: /usr/share/squirrelmail/src/pagerror.gif [Thu Jun 03 17:05:44 2004] [error] [client 10.10.10.10] File does not exist: /usr/share/squirrelmail/src/refresh.gif --- I have not been able to discover what piece of code is referencing pagerror.gif or refresh.gif. Also, why is it ever looking to leave the SSL Socket? Thanks for any help. -k |

Also, why is it ever looking to leave > the SSL Socket? The log errors above are a result of IE displaying it's error page. That page has two graphic images in it, pagerror.gif and refresh.gif, which it tries to load from the current URL location for some reason. I too have looked all through the code and didn't find anything obvious. I even changed a few references that were commented out in the javascript code from http links to https and nothing helped. There is mention in the doc directory of an IE bug regarding buggy IE code when trying HTTP 1.1 so I followed the suggestion and forced 1.0 responces for MSIE browsers and that didn't help either. It's bugs like this that just enable us all to love IE a little more every day;-) Brad -- Last time I had this much fun was, ... uh ... |

This has nothing to do with the plugin, unless you are not being clear enough. Try: Options->Display Preferences->Width of Compose Window (and same for height) |
