Hello, I have caught up with some Czech translations of SM and plugins. Some of them were maintained by other people which I had contacted and had got permission to continue in their recent (and really appreciated) effort. I send copy of this mail to them to make sure I am not kidding ;-) I will be happy to fix any mistake I have made. Thanks in advance for incorporating of these translations into SM. T:D |

Hi! Thanks for your words, nice to hear you anyway, I remember taking some translations from you ;-) > your translation seem very good. Just one small thing. I do not mind doing that, but just to make sure: are you suggesting switching Czech locales (incl. plugins) into UTF-8 in default SM installation? Are we able to cooperate with other translators? As I understand discussions taken part in i18n list, we need also cooperation of core developers, do we? Or did you mean to switch only 'my' translations to utf-8? I can see only 3 of 21 translations currently available on i18n status page (http://l10n-stats.squirrelmail.org/SM-1_4_15/cs_CZ/)... Bye for now, T:D |

After a while I am here with a switch of Czech (cs_CZ) locale to UTF-8. As you suggested, we made a poll, all of the active translators clearly support use of UTF-8 so can you please incorporate attached files into tree and change encoding for cs_CZ locale to utf-8? You will find there *.po files from HEAD and just in case it is important also files from SM-1_4_15 branch. Last part (NEW subdir) is my last contribution which I am not sure they made it into the tree (29.7.2008 12:58 @ SM-i18n list). During poll we discovered that these guys are no responsive, so mark them please as retired (I took over their translations): Daniel Kahoun <squ...@da...> Jimmy Conner <ji...@ad...> Ivo Panacek <iv...@re...> these two too gave up actively Jiri Demel <de...@fs...> Viktor Matys <gr...@us...> Thank you all for your help, hope we will keep it moving ;-) Your sincerely, Tomas Drbohlav |

OK, this is confusing to me. The place that we maintain translations is only in head --> locales --> locale. Would you mind aggregating your updated (UTF) and new plugin translations into one tarball for inclusion in this location and re-sending it? Sorry it's taken a while to respond to you on this. > During poll we discovered that these guys are no responsive, so mark them > please as retired (I took over their translations): > > Daniel Kahoun <squ...@da...> > Jimmy Conner <ji...@ad...> > Ivo Panacek <iv...@re...> > > these two too gave up actively > > Jiri Demel <de...@fs...> > Viktor Matys <gr...@us...> I'm confused again. ;-) Looking at the TRANSLATORS file in the location mentioned above, I only see these Czech translators: Czech - cs_CZ - iso-8859-2 Ondrej Sury <ondrej at sury.cz> Tomas Zvala <fox at murder.cz> Tomas Drbohlav <tomas.drbohlav at mff.cuni.cz> Lukテ。ナ。 Prokop <abeceda.prokop at seznam.cz> Am I missing some list you have somewhere else? Hmmm, I see these in the (current) .po file: # Lucie Fischerovテ。 <lu...@gl...>, 2000. # Tomas Zvala, 2003. # Tomas Drbohlav <tom...@mf...>, 2005. # Daniel Kahoun <squ...@da...>, 2006. # Tomas Drbohlav <tom...@mf...>, 2006. |

You don't need permission from the core developers, but all translations for a language must use the same encoding so the translators have to agree on what to use. I recommend UTF-8. I suggest that you arrange a poll/vote on this list, and also let me know if any of the current Czech translators are to be marked as retired. Sincerely, Fredrik |
