Just a thought I have, for Stefan who is at the moment working on the
vCard/address book, and of course whoever has any thougths or comments
I don't know whether you were planning to implement an option to
automatically add your vCard to outgoing messages, but in case you do,
please consider this:
There are places I send mail to, where I do not want to attach my vCard,
either because it will become available on public severs (such as this
mailinglist), or because I don't want the addressee to know all my
contact information - for whatever reason.
When "attach vCard" is defaulted on (which I have on my Netscape email
client), I have to remember to remove the attachment from outgoing
messages to mailinglists and the like, which is a pain in the *ss. I
also happen to forget it sometimes.
Therefore, I would *love* to have an option in the address book like
"Send this person your vCard: Never/default/Always".
Similar applications of the address book w.r.t. sending exist, to
* send html: yes/no (not applicable yet until someone fancies to
implement it in SM)
* sign messages: yes/default/no
* use signature: yes/default/no
* public PGP key: ####
* S/MIME cert: ####
Some of these may never find application within SM, but others easily
...just another 2ct
