I've been wanting to implement an ldap subtree that contains aliases to
the "real" entries. However, in functions/abook_ldap_server.php on line
166 I noticed the $sret = @ldap_search does *not* dereference aliases;
it's completely missing this parameter, which would normally be the last
parameter passed. So I manually added LDAP_DEREF_ALWAYS to my site and now
dereferencing works for me.
So why isn't this part of the function used? It seems to me that this
would be a simple modification that could only add to the usefulness of
squirrelmail's ldap addressbook. Are there any plans to start using this
last parameter? Probably it could be a variable set in config.php that
would be passed as a parameter in this function. That way people could
choose to dereference or not as they saw fit.
