I think it's reasonable to follow the strategy of most desktop
applications. A desktop application has a splash screen and an about
box, which is reachable through the help menu. It also has the window
title with its name.
SquirrelMail in devel currently does this: the login page is like a
splash screen, the window title reference can be compared to the
copyright footer, and the about box is also reachable through Help.
I think this is not less and not more than we need.
