Alan, I am not sure about the logs on OS X, but it sounds like you are not being authenticated by your IMAP server. You can't login to squirrelmail if your IMAP server will not authenticate your username and password. On Linux useful logging info can be found in the /var/log/ directory. You can test your IMAP server's functionality by telneting to the IMAP port (usually 143) of the IMAP server. If you get connected you can try entering: a001 LOGIN username password If you can login to your IMAP server this way then there is a problem with the way SM is setup. I would go back to conf.pl and check the settings. Another thing to be aware of is that SM 1.2.4 does not fully support PHP 4.1 yet. The preferred version of PHP is 4.0.6. Unexpected results can occur with PHP 4.1. hope that helps -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [SM-USERS] Unknown user or password incorrect From: Alan Ordway <ao...@ai...> Date: Thu, February 14, 2002 3:58 pm To: squ...@li... > I am having a problem getting SquirrelMail setup and running. > Everything seems to be setup correctly but when I go to the login.php and > enter my name and password for my e-mail account I get the error message > "Unknown user or password incorrect."
