I have just added the address book and LDAP support that I have been
working on for a couple of weeks now.
later. Also, there is no way to add addresses to the personal address book
right now, but I'm working on that.
The address book is written using PHP classes, with one class, AddressBook,
that use one or more "backend" classes to access different address books.
At the moment there are two backend classes, the local_file which is used
for the personal address book, and the ldap_server for LDAP servers. I've
also done some work on a MySQL backend, but that one is not complete.
The personal address book is stored in $data_dir/username.abook as a pipe
separated file. However, there is no way to add new addresses to it at the
moment (I'll start working on it now), so only the LDAP support is
useful. LDAP servers are configured system-wide using the $ldap_server
array. The servers memberdir.netscape.com and ldap.bigfoot.com have been
added to config/config_default.php to show how it is done.
I'll add some docs on how this works internally soon. It's a bit too much
to describe in detail here.
