Fair enough. You wrote: > I have had this happen twice now. The email addresses are info@rapaleetaxidermy and > in...@ou... The login usernames for these are info_rt and info_ozs > respectively. On the same day they both reported not being able to check their info So the login username that you give to SquirrelMail (and thus to IMAP) is "info_rt", which is different than "info_ozs", so there should not be any confusion with accounts as far as SM is concerned. The mapping appears to be just a MTA thing from what I can tell from your description. I would personally recommend a system where they can actually use their full and real email addrses to log in, but that's OT. > My concern was not that my SquirrelMail was suddenly behaving as a sentient > being (LOL) and making decisions on its own and thus changing passwords on There is a mind-reader plugin under development currently by some of the SM developers, and I think that once that one is done, we'll be well under way with a sentience package. The first rather primative functionalities of that package will have servers all over the world seeking out nuts for consumption. > its own. Look at your IMAP logs when they log in -- the username as IMAP knows it is probably "info_xx", thus they are quite distinct. -paul > Anyone else have an issue like this? > > Thanks again for the quick and helpful response. > > Mail server: IMAP - dovecot > PHP - 4.3.11 > Web server - Apache 2.0.53 > This is a stock installation of Redhat Fedora Core 3, which uses RPM. > Squirrelmail version: 1.4.6 > Web server: Raid 5 windows 2003 > > John Glynn |
