So sorry if i havent worded it > right or it is really simple to find. --regarding immediate needs-- I would be happy to send you my addressbook expansions for SM1.4, as well as anyone else who wants them. If nothing else, it would show you which files you need to tweak. It will take me a few business days to gather up the things I've changed and remove the things that truly are unique to my site, but I've also got a version of the CSV plugin that that will export it, and I may have a version of the LDIF import plugin that works with it as well (I *think* I actually finished that, but I'm not sure just now). It's just flat file stuff, though. I've not had a reason to go into the database-backed abook yet. --regarding the future-- I've been meaning to get some free time together and see who is in charge of the SM addressbook (if there is such a person) to see if you'd be interested in integrating some of my changes, or perhaps putting some plugin hooks in the appropriate spots. Unfortunately, I haven't had as much free time as I'd like, and have not had time to figure out where those hooks should be and move my stuff out into plugin space. If I had some motivation (i.e. one or two interested people), I might actually get it done in two or three weeks. I know everyone's always going to have their field that they *need* -- like all of the ICQ, AIM, MSN, and IRC ID's their friends use, along with all the phone numbers and home pages and things. Given the amount of customization people would probably want the best route for something like this would be a plugin, rather than a change to the core. - Mary |
