Or better yet, used the httpd-2.0.40 included with Redhat 9 (grab the
latest errata), use the PHP from Red Hat, install SquirrelMail (the RH 9
RPM from the SQ web site works fine), and RTFM:

(watch for URL wrap)

Out of the box Redhat 9 is mod_ssl ready (and enabled, I believe).
