You can fix your problem by setting session.auto_start = 1 in the /etc/php.ini OR use the secure_login plugin which you can download off the squirrelmail website OR commenting out the line about @session_destroy(); in your /squirrelmail/src/login.php. Hope that helps. Carlos -----Original Message----- From: squ...@li... [mailto:squ...@li...] On Behalf Of Brendan Pirie Sent: August 21, 2002 5:10 AM To: squ...@li... Subject: [SM-USERS] login page load time Hi, I've just setup a new server running redhat 7.3. I have apache and imap and sendmail running, and have installed the latest SquirrelMail RPM from squirrelmail.org. From the localhost, everything seems to be working well. From remote hosts, however, the initial login page takes roughly 3 minutes to load, and I have not been able to track down the source of delay. Once this page is loaded, everything works quickly and smoothly from there on, unless I log out. If I log out, clicking on the link to go back to the login page results in the same delay. DNS and reverse DNS appear to be functioning properly for both hosts involved. I have tried both with standard http on port 80, and ssl on port 443, and the results are the same. When using ssl, the browser advises me at once that I've requested a secure page, and I can view the cert. right away, but it still doesn't load the login page for approx. 3 minutes. During this "lag" time, I see no TCP/IP activity, and I have found nothing in any of the logs to indicate what is happening. Any help appreciated.
