OK but I'm sure it has something to do with the linefeeds. SM opens a connection to your imapserver in smtp.php and does an APPEND to copy the sended message to your sent_mail folder. What you realy should do is rerun conf.pl because if you are using an old version of config.php a lot could go wrong because there was a terrible bug in setting the boolean vars. It is possible that in your config.php the is a lineuse_sendmail = "false" which is treated as true because the check is: if ($use_sendmail) "false" is a string so SM thinks use_sendmail = true.
