As reported by Cor "cor" Bosman on IRC:
the Languages select box in the options/display screen
displays all languages in the current translation. This
does not make sense. You should display each language
in its own native format, like:
Afrikaans
English
Deutch
Fran,cais
Nederlands

This is a feature request, not bug. SquirrelMail 1.5.1cvs
contains alternative language name feature, that displays
native language name.
SquirrelMail can use only ASCII names and html entities in
language names. We can't translate it in gettext, because
$languages is loaded before gettext environment isset.
Some language names are totally unreadable in php/html source.
$languages['ru_RU']['NAME'] =
'Русский';
Some names might cause installation of alternative language
support in IE.

From a UI perspective this would be way better I think. At
least it should be the default in 1.5.x.
