with sessions why use cookies, really sessions are more powerfull and simpler to use. you can argue that cookies are supported by 95% of the market, but sessions are simpler or you to use then cookies and are supported by 100% of the market.

    FYI: Sessions are mostly implemented by cookies.

    Uhm... we are using sessions. The session ID must be stored
    either via a cookie or passed via a URL. Cookies are less
    heinous to implement, hence we use them. This is not likely
    to change. Ever.
