#108 IMAP server login hook?

I'm writing a virtualhosting plugin for squirrelmail
but had to hack up imap_general.php's sqimap_login
method in order to modify login information passed to
the IMAP server.

Specifically, I change the imapServerAddress and
username based on the user information people log in
as. This is either a 'user@domain' or a user combined
with a domain extracted from the CGI environment

Can you add a hook to future versions of squirrelmail
to do this? It seems like a pretty useful thing for
plugin writers to use!

Wouldn't it be much much easier to do this in the login form
as opposed to doing it over and over again every time you
want to connect to the imap server?

The vdomain plugin provides this functionality. even if it
doesn't exactly suit your needs, it should have code you can
borrow, and suggestions for how to do this.
