SM1.2.10
PHP4.2.3
IMAP UW2000 with this response
* CAPABILITY IMAP4 IMAP4REV1
STARTTLS NAMESPACE IDLE
MAILBOX-REFERRALS SCAN SORT
THREAD=REFERENCES
THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT
MULTIAPPEND LOGIN-REFERRALS
AUTH=LOGIN

I had this problem with 1.2.9 as well. It
seems that the while statement seems
to get caught in a loop when pulling in
the inbox array. I have seen the error
with line numbers ranging from 47 to
78. It is always on a while loop. This
can occur with as few as 2 messages in
the inbox so it isn't related to the
number of messages.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of
30 seconds exceeded in
/usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/imap_general.php
on line 47

Also, the very strange part is that on
the same mailbox that you get this
error on you can click on search and
add a common character like "t" or "a"
and all the messages pop up without
delay.

    Can you try version 1.4.0? Does that have the same problem?

    I have tried the cvs 1.4 branch and the
    problem i sstill there. I have tracked it back
    to what appears to be a UWIMAP problem
    with the server losing connection. The
    only thing I can think of is maybe on these
    function calls too return a better error
    messsage (if possible) so that someone
    knows to look at their IMAP server in more
    detail.

    How many messages do you have in your inbox?
    Can you try to enable server_side sorting in your conf.pl?
