The LDAP-Search does'nt work with secial characters
like "äöü"

If i remove the functions "charset_encode and
charset_decode" it works.

But this didn't work for me who is having an ldap
addressbook with utf-8 coading and Big-5 on the Mozilla screen.

There must be a way to solve this.

    Thank You

    Hello,

Your bug was filed against an 1.2.x release of SquirrelMail. Can
you verify that the problem still persists in the 1.4.0+ version
    of SquirrelMail?

The 1.4.x series is the new stable release. Many things have
changed and it could be that your bug was fixed in the process.
Please reopen this bug if it is still present in 1.4.0.

Thanks in advance for your help!
    SquirrelMail stable team

    squirrelmail 1.5.1cvs (functions/abook_ldap_server.php
    v.1.25) and 1.4.4cvs (functions/abook_ldap_server.php
v.1.18.2.4) uses squirrelmail functions to convert 8bit
symbols to right charset. Seach should work correctly, if
users set correct charset in ldap server description and
search contains characters supported by charset used in
translation and charset used in ldap. By default LDAP should
use utf-8. Main problems might occur only when user searches
for character unsupported by his/her translation or results
contain characters unsupported by his/her translation.

One more problem - squirrelmail currently does not support
euc-jp, big5 and gb2312 encoding. working on that.

I think bug can be closed.
