Some time ago I received an email with an incorrectly formatted date. The relevant line in the headers is:
Date: Thu Mar 15 10:07:27 CET 2007
Since we entered 2008, this message is shown as March 15 2008 rather than 2007 (and thus always on top of my email!). Apparently the current year is taken as default when the date is incorrectly formatted and cannot be parsed.
Could this handling of incorrectly formatted dates be improved? I'm not sure what the best way would be, but other mail applications handle this differently as they still show the email as March 15 2007.
