Login connection with Squirrelmail is refused if
'accents' characters are included in the password.

The error message below appears :
ERROR:
Bad request: Missing or invalid argument to LOGIN
Read data:

The imap server is a uw imap server.
NO problem occurs if the connection is thru Microsoft
Outlook Express 6.

Example :
If the password is 'dédé', SquirrelMail or Outlook
Express in IMAP session sends this password with the
same form. 4 characters '64 e9 64 e9' are sent to the
same uw-imap server.

The difference is below :
- SM sends the password with the username, example :
A001 LOGIN "jvalot" "dédé"
- OE sends the username and password not at the same
time, example :
0001 LOGIN "jvalot" {4}
+ Ready for argument <---- Server response. Server
waits for 4 characters
dédé

Thank you for your investigation,
Jacques

    Juste a precision,
    with the same uw-imap server, if we use the PHP 'imap_open'
    function, the problem doesn't occurs :
    $mbox =
    imap_open("{".$your_server.":143}INBOX",$username,$your_password);

    Jacques.

    Please test this issue against 1.4.4 and see if the issue
    still exists. Some code was put in before the release that
    should resolve this issue.

    I have installed the 1.4.4 version of Squirrelmaill.
    The problem is corrected.
    Login connections is now accepted with 'accents' characters
    in the password.

    Thank you.
    Jacques.
