If you are behind a firewall (hence you can access the download page but 
not the CVS repository)
then you may want to try the "port 80" alias for the CVS repository.  
Try using this as CVSROOT:

:pserver:ano...@cv...:80/cvsroot/squirrel-sql

as in

cvs  -d  :pserver:ano...@cv...:80/cvsroot/squirrel-sql login

(password is empty)

Then checkout the "sql12" directory as in

cvs  -d  :pserver:ano...@cv...:80/cvsroot/squirrel-sql 
co sql12

That's allright. I'm digging myself into the code right now. I used CVS at home on my linux box to get the sources.

I've posted the source for the snapshot build to the "snapshots" package 
on SF.  (squirrel-sql-Snapshot-20050716_1356-src.tar.gz)
I used the following command in the sql12 directory to fetch the source 
from CVS:

cvs update -D "2005-07-16 13:56:00" .
