[Squirrel-sql-users] Auto-update doesn't

Hello all...

I installed 3.3.0 a while ago. I recently let Squirell fetch the 3.4 
updates, but these don't install. /opt/squirell/update seems to have the 
necessary files, but starting squirrel-sql.sh from a terminal I get:

Oh, you are running a IBM-JVM :-)

Is this the full stacktrace in the logfile? Usually, stacktraces where  
Springframework is involved are much longer.

You can see a NullPointerException in a GenericTypeResolver of 
Springframework. To ensure, that this doesn't depend on your IBM-Java, 
it would be nice, if you can try this with OpenJDK or Oracle's JVM.

If you want an easy solution, I suggest you to download the plain zip 
package of SQuirreL 3.4.0 and I am sure, you will have no troubles. You 
will not loose your settings.

But on the other hand, if you can test some various Java Versions, then 
you can help us to improve SQuirreL.

That's all there is to it, But AFAIK it is complete (the "...16 more" 
indicate it's the same 16 last lines as the exception above).

OK, if I find some spare time I will. Just have to find a way to have 
both runtimes coexist on my system.

I understand that... will do my best :) Very satisfied with the current 
version anyway, so the update can wait a bit.

OK, installed a Sun V6 runtime and installs runs fine (and new version 
seems OK with the IBM JVM).

Before that I took a snapshot of my  Squirell installation at level 
3.3.0 with the updates directory at the ready, so if necessary I can 
replay the update process with the IBM JVM with some more tracing code.
