I am trying to install squirrel-sql on my FC4 x86_64 machine with no success.
First of all, I have many minor problems with the installer window.
Problem #1 - the trust tester:
on the page that asks if I accept the terms of the licebse agreement, I only
see a little white square with no text in it and the two radio buttons (with
their respective associated text). So, I cannot read the license agreement.
Faithful as I am, I decide to accept it anyway. I have to click in the 'I
accept' radio box to check it, and then to click in the 'I do not accept' one
to uncheck that one (it's checked by default) before I get the Next button.
Problem #2 - the evil directory creator:
After the previous step, clicking on Next does nothing (seemingly, the consol
spits out a few lines when I move the mouse pointer in the window). Clicking
again on Next brings a popup saying 'The target directory will be created:'
OK/Cancel. So be it, I click OK.
Problem #3 - the frustration tester:
Now comes the page where I have to chose the packs I want. Here, the layout is
funcky. There are 3 column in the white text area, a left column for the
check boxes, a middle column for the description and a right column for the
pack size. The middle column text is apparently centered, but the column is
not wide enough. So, the text that blurs on the right is just cut, the one
that blurs on the left goes over the check boxes. There is a note saying that
greyed out packs are required... nothing's greyed out here. Base has no check
box, Standard is check by default, the others (that I can see despite the
fact that the text is on top of them) are unchecked. Clicking on a line
highlight it, but there is nothing I can do to check a box (clicking anywhere
on the line, double clicking, right click, left click, eye closed click,
clicking with the elbow, nothing worked). Okey, let's just go with standard
then, I click on Next.
Problem #4 - the terminator:
After clicking on Next, here is what the consol says:

and from here, nothing more. Next is greyed out. Previous isn't but does
nothing. Quit does nothing. Only the window cross closes the window, bringing
a pop up 'This will cancel the installation!'. OK and Cancel here seem to
have the same effect. Then I have to Ctrl+C in the concole.
