Hi.
Assuming Squirrel is up and running...
Locate the JDBC drivers for the databases in use, download them locally, and in the Drivers tab on the left of the main Squirrel pane, install them so that there is a tick mark against the ones he needs.
Then using the aliases tab, add connections to each database in turn. He will need the JDBC connection string (the drivers should provide the example) and his user id and password.
To use an alias/connection, highlight alias and click connect. There is a 'test' option on the connection pane.
Once you have the alias set up and working, click on save preferences in the File menu to save the setup.
That should get him started.
