JDBC is fine. There is no requirement that I am aware of for you to use
jdbc-odbc bridge.

I use MS SQL, and they are different.
However, there is a link in microsoft site for downloading JDBC. Buy
SquirreL requires JDBC ODBC Bridge,If I download JDBC from Microsoft site,
will that do?

Hi Hotovaga,

The sun.jdbc.odbc.JDBCODBC.Driver class was removed from Java 8 so you'll
need to find an alternative driver to connect to MS Access. I haven't
personally encountered this problem, nor do I use Access, but you could try
the driver offered by this site http://ucanaccess.sourceforge.net/site.html

If you're using Java 8, the JDBC-ODBC driver was removed.

[Squirrel-sql-users] Date/time format in the generated insert into script for SQL Server

When generating an INSERT-INTO script from the result of a select statement, the DATETIME column values come across as follows:



{ts '2017-02-24 10:56:12.790000'}



The correct format would be as follows:



'2017-02-24 10:56:12.790'



In the settings I can see that the above format is supposed to be used for timestamps in WHERE clauses, but it seems to be used for datetime of the VALUES clause as well.

Changing the setting below does not seem to have any impact on the VALUES.

Also, BIT fields come across as 'true' or 'false' which confuses SQL Server when this executes. Can those be changed to 1/0?

[Squirrel-sql-users] JDBCODBC Bridge driver

Hi,
When I launch SQuirreL, it fails to connect to the the jdbcodbc bridge
driver.
I get the following error message:

"java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: sun.jdbc.odbc.JDBCODBC.Driver
Could not find class sun.jdbc.odbc.JDBCODBC.Driver in neither the Java class
path nor the Extra class path of the JDBC ODBC Bridge driver definition:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: sun.jdbc.odbc.JDBCODBC.Driver"

Can someone please help me?

The SQL result panel can now be hidden and restore by the new 'Toggle 
minimize results' function. Use ctrl shift M, tools popup or right mouse 
menu of SQL editor.

[Squirrel-sql-users] source (sql) missing new / blank lines formatting issue

Hi all,
I am using Squirrel client 3.7.1
When i try to create a function which have new lines in source code and proper formatting of SQL statement, it execute successfully but remove all the white spaces. Some how squirrel removing formatting from actual script which execute on database.Above result in poor format when some one see the source of function / procedure.
Please find two attachments as an example which is showing what happens in mysql.
In Oracle, semicolon (;) from previous line come at start of next line.In MYSQL, all new line characters are missing

Hello everyone,
I'm learning query builder and trying to use SQuirreL.

While trying to connect my Alias, I get an 'Unexpected error occured window
with the following message:
java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: java.lang.RuntimeException:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbc.Driver

I manually put the dot (.) before the word Driver ( I learnt that from a
video in YouTube)

Here is my Driver URL:

Here is the class name: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbc.Driver

Here is the java class path: Z:\SquirreL\squirrel-sql.jar

I'm definitely not doing something right here, just don't know what that is.

attached you find the test program. At the beginning you find comments 
that describe how to compile and execute the program.

Also there are few things you have to adjust in the program itself.

On 'select :var from dual':

The only way to parametrize SQLs with SQuirreL is by the sqlparam Plugin.
If you installed it you may consult the Plugin's help to see how parameters
work.
