Hi, You're going to have to give us some more information. Exactly what error did you get? I was using netscape (7.1) and when I tried internetExplorer (6.0), the download and install work perfectly! Don't know why ! :-( I play with it and I found it really sensastional! I can acces the two kind of DB I use (mysql and postgresql) on few diff. machine (unix/sun windau/PC), so easly for common browsing and data inspection. I will promote it. Colin, I solved the problem with JConnect, but still have problems with SQuirreL Client recognizing the Sybase JConnect drivers. I downloaded the latest JConnect 5.5 with the latest EBF, re-ran the JConnect SQL script, and that solved my problems with the metadata tables. I believe it was a bug with JConnect 5.5 & Sybase 12.5. Another package named DBVisualizer recognizes the drivers and functions properly. Unfortunately, SQuirreL Client doesn't recognize the drivers, even though I see it listed in the classpath window. I have it as c:\sybase\jconnet-5_5\classes\jconn2.jar, and that should be sufficient as far as I know. Strangely, SQuirreL Client recognizes the drivers for Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere (not Enterprise which I need). My question now is how do I get SQuirreL to see the JConnect Sybase ASE drivers? Hi John Thats an error message from the server/driver. Although you say you've installed the metadata information it appears that this was not successful otherwise you wouldn't be getting this error message. A couple of possibilities - Have you checked if the metadata tables were created? - If they were created is your user profile authorised to use them? - Did you run the script as sa? If you didn't your user profile may not be authorised to the tables. - Did you run the correct version of the script? I believe that depending on which version of JConnect you are using you need a different version of the script. This is a problem with Sybase/JConnect, not SQuirreL so you'd probably get a more knowledgeable response on a Sybase/JConnect list. I started a freeware DB front-end program called SQuirreL SQL Client. I thought I'd responded to this but it hasn't come through to the list so I'll try again. SQuirreL should support Unicode as long as you have configured your JDBC driver correctly. This usually means adding a parameter to the URL, see your driver documentation for details. If the problem has only occurred since the upgrade then it sounds like the upgrade has caused the problem. Did upgrading the DB2 client also upgrade the JDBC driver? I use Squirrel SQL daily to access large AS/400 databases. Squirrel
performs excellently even on very large, complex SQL statements. I've
joined up to 13 files in one statement.
In DB2/400, the way to access different members of the same file is with the
CREATE ALIAS sql command. The sql syntax is; CREATE ALIAS LIBRARY.NEWFILE
For LIBRARY.FILE (MEMBER)
Or you could issue the OS/400 OVRDBF command via SQL editor to force JDBC
connection to use the member you wish to select. The OS/400 syntax is; CALL
QSYS/QCMDEXC('OVRDBF FILE(NEWFILE) TOFILE(LIBRARY/FILE)
MBR(MEMBER)',0000000053.00000) Where 0000000053.00000 is a 15.5 decimal
value greater or equal to length of the entire OS/400 command. (Executing
OS/400 commands directly from SQL editor is great. This should be a
plugin!!!)

When I first proposed the mechanism for deleteing data in the
ContentsTab cells, I described how continuing to hit delete after
removing all of the cell's contents would cause the original text to be
restored. All of the responses I got were against that proposal. I
went ahead and implemented it that way for two reasons:
- it was easier to implement than any of the other thoughts I had, and
- I had previously used a system that worked that way and thought it
was ok.
Now that you've had a chance to work with this implementation I'm
curious as to how you feel about it. We should certainly add "Restore
Original" as an option in the right-mouse-button popup menu, but other
than that, are you comfortable with the way it works?

window.
Ex. CALL QSYS.QCMDEXC('WRKACTJOB SEQ(*CPUPCT) CPUPCTLMT(0.1)',
0000000037.00000)
Where 0000000037.00000 is a fixed decimal field with a length of 10 and 5
decimal places. The value 37 in the sample above must be the length of the
string (the number of characters including spaces between the single
quotes).
