Gerd, thank you for your reply. I am not sure what I need to check. I can
attach to toad and it doesn't limit my rows, so i wouldn't think it would
have something to do with Oracle DB would it?
I added the sqlparam Plugin, thanks. it works.

On 'select :var from dual':
The only way to parametrize SQLs with SQuirreL is by the sqlparam Plugin.
If you installed it you may consult the Plugin's help to see how parameters
work.
