I installed Java 6 beta 2 last night and can duplicate part of your
problem.
I don't get the properties dialogs not appearing problem but I do get
the unable to select the SQL dropdown problem. Looks like theres a
focus problem in Java 6. I found a fixed bug in the Java bug tracker
that may relate to this problem. The fix will be available in the next
release of Java 6.
If I get the time I'll try to put together a small test case that
demonstrates the problem and add it to the Java bug tracker.
