It occurs immediately, and even if there are no sessions open. I have
Sun Java 1.6 (beta). The database is MSSQL 2000, and I am using the
JTDS driver version 1.2. (Squirrel v 2.3)

It sounds as though you have a memory issue, posibly a leak. Does this
happen only after SQuirreL has been running for a long time? Do you have
a lot of sessions open?
What version of Java are you using and what DBMS and driver and their
versions?
