Hello,
(NB: This is a resend of my message sent yesterday but not accepted - until
now at least- because I didn't already suscribe. Didn't know it was
neccesary to suscribe in order to post a message. And using a redirected
e-mail address (gon...@in... ==> mic...@ex...) seems
to be impossible). The first message posted may be deleted.)
I'm very new to SQuirrel and even with a long programming experience, I have
no useful experience in Java and JDBC.
I have installed SQuirrel SQL Cient 2.2 Final and would like to connect to
an Oracle Lite database named "capedb.odb" and located in a local drive
"D:\CAPE2006_APP-DB\DBs\LITEv302_0725\lite".
In the Drivers window, I have modified the Oracle Thin Driver (not yet
enabled) to allow it to point in the "Extra Class Path" to the "olite40.jar"
driver located in the Oracle lite 10g installation folder in the D: drive.
(This Oracle lite application used to be installed but after a crash, it's
not yet re-installed)
After clicking on the List Drivers button, the Class Name shows
"oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver" and in the Drivers window, the line with
Oracle Thin Driver has a V sign (enabled) in front of it.
In the Aliases Window (New), I've :
- entered for Name: CAPE-DBs_LITEv302_0725
- selected for Driver: Oracle Thin Driver
- and modifed the proposed URL
"jdbc:oracle:thin:@<server>[:<1521>]:<database_name>" with:
"jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:D:\CAPE2006_APP-DB\DBs\LITEv302_0725\lite\
capedb.odb"
When I click on Test (no user name or password needed), I get a message
"CAPE-DBs_LITEv302_0725: Unable to create connection. Check your URL."
I've checked various places, including quick_start.html, but found nothing
that could help me.
Already thank you for your help or advices and don't hesitate to edit my
message if it's then easier to understand it.
(I'm using my office e-mail connection as I have currently no private
Internet access).
