I have been using v10 JDBC drivers with SQuirreL for some time, and connect
to both 10g and 9i (both r1 and r2) databases with no problems. There must
be some problem in a configuration somewhere.
However, if you still cannot work out the problem, there is no reason why you
cannot make a copy of the 'Oracle Thin Driver' and configure one to use the
9i driver, and the other the 10g driver. Then, use the appropriate one when
creating the alias for your database.
