Hi Richard,
You'll need to build the application using the Ant build file in the /build
directory from the source disrribution. If you're not familiar with Java and
Ant this would be a bit difficult. As well if the IzPack installer doesn't
work then probably SQuirreL will have similar problems when trying to run.
Do you have any other Java Swing applications installed (such as JEdit) that
run correctly?
If you give me a couple of hours I'll tar up an installed version of
SQuirreL and put it up on an FTP site for you. Just untar it into somewhere
like /usr/local/. You'll probably need to fiddle with the shell script
before it runs in your environment. Just let me know whether you want 1.1
final or the 1.2 beta.
